Dental Implants are the most preferred option for missing teeth, because of the multiple benefits it offers over other traditional options such as dentures and dental bridges. Dental implants offer a sure solution for lost teeth whether it’s replacing one, two or multiple missing teeth. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is surgically anchored into the jaw bone to hold a crown or bridge.

Implants restore chewing power almost like the natural teeth, maintain the healthy bone level around the implant tooth and also keep the adjacent teeth stable. As dental Implants offer a similar look, feel, and function of the natural teeth, enhance the quality of life, from enjoying your favourite foods to a more confident self with a natural smile – these benefits put them on top of other traditional replacement options.

Dental implants Cost is determined by various factors including the type of implants, the options chose, the bone health, dentist expertise and experience, technologies used etc.

Type of implants:

There are two types of implants – Endosteal and Subperiosteal.

  • The endosteal implant involves the placement of a three-component artificial tooth inside the jawbone – the base (usually a titanium screw), abutment, and the crown. The common price range variance for dental implants is between $1500 to over $10000 per implant.
  • The subperiosteal implant: These dental implants are placed under the gum but on, or above, the jawbone; done when the bone health is poor, and surgery is not an option. Subperiosteal dental implant costs could vary widely between $15,000 to $20,000 (depending on various factors)
Types of Prosthesis:

The cost also depends on the type of prosthesis used and the number of teeth replaced, whether it’s replacement one missing tooth, a partial prosthesis (fixed bridge) to replace two or more teeth. A complete dental prosthesis replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw.

The number of implants used varies based on the type of complete prosthesis (removable or fixed) recommended.

The options were chosen:
  • Single Day Implants: Teeth-In-One-Day™ is a concept that provides patients with fully functioning teeth on dental implants in a single procedure. This requires the collaboration of the restorative dentist and the implant surgeon. Fixed Same-Day-Teeth, provides immediate function and aesthetics with higher affordability and is done using techniques such as CAT Scan and CAD/CAM aided by a computer.
  • All on Four: Fixed (Non-removable) Same-Day-Teeth, provides immediate function and aesthetics with higher affordability. In this case, the teeth are fixed permanently on four implants, making All-on-4™ reliable and cost-effective graft less solution for patients with missing teeth.
Bone health:

To receive implants, you need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. Patients with an insufficient bone to support implants could be candidates for bone augmentation, which is the process of rebuilding the bone and the cost adds up.

Surgery Type:

If the Implant procedure is done in Operation Theatre with General anaesthesia (in case of bone grafting) the cost will add up. In some cases, the procedure is done as an outpatient with local anaesthesia.

Dentist Expertise & Experience:

Our team of Implant Specialists, Oral Surgeons and Prosthodontists are knowledgeable, experienced and have the expertise to perform implant procedures with a success rate of 95-98%. This can influence the cost as it can provide better results.

Technologies used:

We use state-of-the-art equipment such as CAD / CAM technologies, to get best treatment outcomes. This makes it simpler and comfortable for the patient and enables precise treatment for the Oral Surgeon.

All the above factors add up to the cost of Dental implant procedure varying with each individual case and treatment. However, at Langley Dental Centre you can receive full value for the money spent.

Dental Insurance:

At Langley Dental Centre, we accept all dental insurance plans that are common in British Columbia. Once the treatment is done, the claim is electronically sent to the insurance company for payment to our office. In situations where the patients do not have an insurance, the payment can be made by VISA, Mastercard, or Debit card.
